A YOUNG employee of Aberdeen-based Aiken Group has scooped a prestigious training accolade.

Lee Youngson was recently named best third year refrigeration apprentice at the 2012 Tullos Training awards ceremony and received his certificate from guest speaker, George Yule.  Aberdeen-born Lee is a refrigeration engineer and joined Aiken Group in 2009.

Commenting on Lee’s success, Aiken Group HR manager, Christine Bateman, said: “The company has a long history of nurturing young talent in the industry and we operate an almost constant recruitment drive, offering opportunities for graduates and apprentices as frequently as possible.

“It is vital that we encourage young people to come onboard as they are crucial not only to the ongoing growth of Aiken Group, but also to the future of the industry as a whole.”

She added: “We are very proud of Lee’s hard work and all that he has achieved, and we look forward to supporting him as he continues to progress in his career.”
