Aberdeen IT specialist Skibo Technologies Ltd has won new business estimated to be worth in excess of £150,000 over the next 12 months. Three additional contracts have been secured since the start of the year, putting the independent services company on course to achieve a turnover of £2 million for 2012/2013.

The new contracts are to supply a range of hardware projects and ongoing IT support. One of the agreements is with international luxury food producer Baxters Food Group and was secured because of Skibo’s expertise in delivering and supporting a specialist business collaboration application.

Skibo is only one of a handful of IT support companies in Scotland with experience of the system, and staff are now working with the firm’s Moray headquarters to oversee the roll-out of the project.

Enterprise North East Trust has appointed Skibo to carry out the virtualisation of its servers to create a more stable and resilient infrastructure, and to provide ongoing IT support at its offices across Scotland. Industry representative body Oil & Gas UK has also chosen Skibo to fulfil a support services contract.

Skibo Technologies sales and marketing manager Holly Paterson says all the signs are pointing towards 2013 being a landmark year for the company, which employs 30 people.

Mrs Paterson says, “We could not have asked for a better start to the year, with demand for ICT solutions and support services being particularly strong. We believe that the raft of new business wins, in addition to a number of contract renewals with existing clients, has put us on course to achieve a turnover approaching £2 million in this financial year.

“The success can be attributed to the growth in support service contracts, but also to the increased interest from business in utilising our full range of services. We now work with a wide range of companies across a broad section of industries, ranging from SMEs to large multi-nationals both in Scotland and in other locations across the globe.

“We achieved the ISO 9001 accreditation last year and we feel this has been instrumental in securing our latest contract wins. It is reassuring for clients to know that we operate with a standardised service of quality management and that we adhere to a prescribed set of policies and procedures.”

Based at 5 Rubislaw Place, Aberdeen, Skibo Technologies provides complete computing infrastructure and collaboration solutions. The business is both a Microsoft Gold Partner and Cisco Certified Partner. For further information on Skibo Technologies, visit www.skibo.com or call 01224 793970.
