Motor group invests £1.4 million in expansion of Aberdeen business

The John Clark Motor Group has invested £1.4 million in the development of a new dealership complex for its Skoda and Seat franchises in Aberdeen.

 

The new Specialist Cars Skoda and Seat dealership, one of the largest combined Skoda and Seat operations in the UK, incorporates an 11-car showroom for Skoda and a separate six-car showroom for Seat. A 10-bay workshop services both marques incorporating an MOT test bay and four wheel alignment ramp.

Located on Aberdeen’s Craigshaw Road – a site formerly occupied by AC Yule – the new complex has space for up to 50 used vehicles and significant further parking for customers vehicles.

Mark Hodgson, who joins from a similar role with a BMW dealership in Carlisle, has been appointed as the new Specialist Cars Skoda and Seat dealer principal.

In total four new jobs have been created by the opening, with the expectation of further jobs as the business develops.

Commenting on the investment in the new Specialist Cars Skoda and Seat dealership, John Clark, chairman and managing director of the John Clark Motor Group, said:

With an annual turnover of £355 million, 780 employees and 20 motor trade business in the east of Scotland from Aberdeen, through Dundee and Fife, to Edinburgh, the John Clark Motor Group is Scotland’s fourth largest motortrade group and one of the top 30 in the UK.
