17 students across the Fashion and Textile Design courses at Gray’s School of Art are beginning their challenge of fundraising a whopping £5000 to enable them to exhibit their honours year work at New Designers in London this June.

The students are taking an innovtive approach by using the crowd funding platform Kickstarter.com to help raise the funds along with other more traditional fundraising tactics.

So far they have kicked off their fundraising project with a band night which proved to be a great success and they have lots more activities planned to generate the funds they need to make Gray’s School of Art @ New Designers 2014 happen.

Their first challenge is to raise the money for the deposit for their stand at the show so they are currently hoping that their kickstarter project can help then raise £1000 which will allow then to secure their place.

Taking place over two weeks, with eight distinct design zones and two prestigious Awards Evenings, New Designers is the UK’s most important graduate design exhibition, full of innovation and fresh thinking. The show sees over 3,500 of the most talented, newly graduated designers from the UK’s leading universities.

Exhibiting at this exciting event will be a fantastic opportunity for the students to showcase their portfolios of work created during their honours year study in Aberdeen to a far wider audience from ND in London.
