Inverness’ Heathmount Hotel has recruited a new general manager, as the venue prepares for the second phase of a £200,000 investment into its bars and restaurant.
Local hospitality professional Darren Crawford takes up the post, leaving a position at Rocpool Restaurant. He previously worked at the Heathmount as duty manager between 2003 and 2011.
Darren said: “I’m really excited to be joining the Heathmount as manager. My focus at the moment is on preparing for the busy Christmas party season and working closely with our interior designer on the plans for the new bars and restaurant. I can’t reveal any detail yet, but it really is going to be spectacular.”
Fiona Newton, owner of the Heathmount, added: “I’ve owned the Heathmount for over 20 years and feel this is one of our most exciting times yet. There is no doubt we’re beginning to feel the upturn in the local economy. The hotel’s bedrooms have been full all summer and the bars and restaurant have been hugely popular with locals – particularly the new patio.
“Darren has worked here before and comes back having experienced a great restaurant in the city. The locals are already welcoming him and enjoying his famous-cocktail and coffee-making skills.”
