Quayside Fabrication was awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ prize at this year’s FSB Worldpay Awards for ‘Business & Product Innovation of the Year’.

The Company received the recognition at an award Ceremony held in London earlier this week (2nd February 2016).

The Company lost out on first prize to 918 Coffee Co, which went on to win the overall prize of ‘UK FSB Worldpay Business of the Year’ for an innovative coffee product that recycles old coffee by using it to roast coffee beans.

The Aberdeenshire firm was recognised for its efforts in launching a ‘Portable Power Unit’ (PPU). The power unit is used during mobilisation and demobilisation jobs on vessels and has already proved successful in saving time, reducing costs and improving safety and efficiency in the oil and gas industry.

David Duncan, Director of Quayside Fabrication said: “The whole team at Quayside Fabrication has worked very hard to design and build the PPU. We launched it last year and it has been hugely welcomed in the industry. We have a great team at Quayside and my thanks go to them for their continued support and hard work. This recognition will help us to build on the PPU’s success and roll it out worldwide. We are very proud.”
Quayside Fabrication was formed in 2010 and has grown to employ 50 staff since its inception. It specialises in fabrication services and makes bespoke equipment for the Oil & Gas industry. For more information visit: www.quaysidefab.com
