A survey has been launched to gather information from startup businesses under 2 years old in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, with a view to providing relevant support and information to this ever-growing community in the North East.
The survey is being co-ordinated by Aberdeen Startup, which has been developed by the team at The Soap Factory business centre in response to the recent rise in the number of startups in the area, and the difficulties they are reporting in finding the right information, support and training to get them through the early stages.
Soap Factory director Lynne Watson said, “The Soap Factory offers a range of services for startups in Aberdeen and we have noticed that increasingly people are looking for guidance on the most basic issues such as company structure, bookkeeping and marketing. We want to do something to help but in order to make that help relevant we need to find out more about the target market, hence the survey.”
“The survey is quite short, only 11 questions, and will only take 5 minutes to complete but there is an option to provide more information or comments, which I’m pleased to say a lot of people have been doing,” Lynne added.
Aberdeen Startup has produced a useful e-book called ‘7 Simple Steps to Startup Success’ which everyone who completes the survey can download free of charge.
The results of the survey will be shared publicly once the survey period is complete, after which the focus of the Aberdeen Startup website will change to become a resource for local startups. Startup Stories will be featured regularly, some of which have already been written, as well as Tips and Tools to help any startup through their journey.
