Two budding local entrepreneurs are to host the inaugural event run by The Gin Room Scotland, showcasing the best gins the country has to offer.

The event, which is taking place at Orchid in Aberdeen on Friday, May 20, is being run by Jayne Carmichael Norrie and Amanda Charteris.

The two entrepreneurs met while taking part on the Elevator Accelerator programme, which aims to fast track businesses to the next level.

Jayne, a professional singing teacher at the Forte Music School, used her time on the 10-week course to develop her new concept ‘The Gin Room Scotland’, an online shop specialising in Scottish Premium small-batch gin and soft drinks.

She is collaborating with Amanda Charteris of ‘Gift Wrapped and Gorgeous’, a successful online gift store which supports hundreds of craft makers and visual artists across the UK.

Jayne commented: “The team was so excited to have the first event for The Gin Room Scotland, we wanted to spread the good cheer and put some Fizz in the Fridays of the good people of Aberdeen. We realize times are tough for a lot of people at the moment.”

In the run up to the event gin fans can enter the Great Gin Goodie Giveaway, with the chance to win free tickets for the night, gin prints and personalized gin mugs, courtesy of Gift Wrapped and Gorgeous.

“We loved the idea of The Great Gin-Goodie Giveaway; even if you are tightening the purse-strings you still have a chance to be involved,” Jayne added.

The future for ‘The Gin Room Scotland’ and ‘Gift Wrapped and Gorgeous’ look very promising, with both Jayne and Amanda invited to extend their stay at Elevator.
