Aberdeen based Rig Control Products (RCP) has entered into a business alliance with Houston-based accumulator manufacturer Accumulators Inc.

The new business alliance will see RCP (Aberdeen & Singapore) provide Accumulators Inc. with a European and South-east Asian distribution channel for the support and supply of its products across these regions.

Specialists in their field since 1987, Accumulators Inc. is the world leader in the design and manufacture of all types and pressures of ASME U certified accumulator products and sustain the largest inventory in the accumulator industry.

The alliance with the Houston-based company will strengthen RCP’s position as a leading supplier in the global oilfield supply of accumulator products and spares, and will also allow RCP to diversify into new markets across Europe and South-east Asia.

Ben Knight, RCP managing director, said: “RCP is excited to announce this business alliance with Accumulators Inc. Its range of accumulator products and parts perfectly compliment RCP’s existing hydraulic control systems and strengthens our position as a market leader in the supply of oilfield products.”

Jeff Ramsey, national sales manager at Accumulators Inc., added: “This is a great opportunity for both companies and we look forward to a very successful partnership with RCP.”

RCP was one of 64 Scottish companies represented at OTC as part of the Scotland pavilion organised by Scottish Enterprise. David Rennie, international sector head for oil and gas at Scottish Enterprise, said: “We support companies to attend overseas events, such as OTC, to help them forge new contacts, strengthen existing ones and do new business. That’s exactly what RCP has done and I’d like to congratulate them on their success.

“RCP is an ambitious, forward thinking company which recognises the importance, particularly in the current climate, of expanding into overseas markets. We’ve been working intensively with RCP through our account management portfolio to support their international ambition and future growth plans, and today’s announcement marks a key milestone in that journey.”
