The St. James’s Place Academy is offering the opportunity for outstanding individuals from Aberdeen and beyond to create their own successful wealth management business.

The Academy runs programmes throughout the year in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Solihull and on 2nd June an open evening about the Academy will be held in Aberdeen for individuals to find out more about the opportunity (details below).

The Academy seeks candidates with a successful career track record who are looking for a new challenge, want to take control of their working lives, and are keen to create value for themselves and for their families.

“The St James’s Place Academy provides individuals with an unrivalled opportunity to pursue a career in financial services,” says Mark Wyllie, Head of Business at the Aberdeen office of St. James’s Place Wealth Management. “The proven training programme offers structured guidance on building a successful Wealth Management Business, and valuable skills development. It comes with the support of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, a FTSE 100 company with over 25 years of expertise in the industry.”

The Academy provides successful candidates with the scope to build a business supported by one of the UK’s largest wealth managers. St. James’s Place has assets under management of more than £62 billion. The foundations of its growth and success are the quality face-to- face advice provided by its Partners, and the strong long-term relationships they build with their clients.

“There isn’t a particular career background we’re looking for but there are certain attributes that are important,” says Adrian Batchelor, Academy Director. “We are looking for highly motivated candidates with an aptitude for building strong relationships from within their network, and attracting new clients.”

While some Academy joiners have come from a background in financial services, others have previously worked in teaching, recruitment, professional sport, the armed forces and the legal profession.

After an intensive selection and assessment process, students at the St. James’s Place Academy will spend two years gaining the knowledge and skills needed for a career in wealth management before formally graduating. The programme includes completing the required professional qualifications, leading to the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to build your business in a well-supported environment, with a great brand behind it,” says Richard Davies, who studied at the Academy and is now a successful St. James’s Place Partner. “To make that leap across to running your own business is tough, but you’re in the best place.”

Potential candidates can find out more about this exceptional opportunity by attending our open evening at St. James's Place House, 3 Queen's Gate Aberdeen on 2 nd June 2016.
