Craibstone Illustrative Plan

CALA Homes (North) has received approval in principle for a 700 home project in Craibstone.

The homebuilder submitted a planning application in 2014 for the development at the Craibstone Estate, which will see the creation of 700 new homes, commercial space and a neighbourhood centre.

The approved masterplan outlines the home builder’s commitment to retaining existing woodland and key open space areas on the site, its walled garden and formal green spaces. Selected existing buildings are also to be retained for neighbourhood and commercial use around the former farm area.

The prime location is set to be maximised to ensure accessibility to the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR), with footpaths and transport links to create a destination where residents can live within a countryside setting, while benefitting from easy access to the city and beyond.

Fraser Carr, sales and marketing director for CALA Homes (North), said: “We are very pleased to be moving forward with our proposals for Craibstone and look forward to further shaping our plans to create a fantastic new community which is sympathetic to and in keeping with the surroundings and stature of the area.

“We have been very careful to craft our plans to reflect the natural surroundings of the Craibstone Estate, ensuring this unique setting marries perfectly with the high quality of CALA’s luxury homes.”

CALA will submit detailed planning for Phase 1 within the coming months subject to the legal agreement being signed and the planning permission in principle released.
