An Aberdeen telecoms firm will go head to head with some of the country’s biggest businesses at a prestigious national awards event.

Independent communications service provider SureVoIP has been nominated for the Best Enterprise Cloud Solution and the Best Hosted Platform honours as part of the Comms National Awards 2016.

Based in the city’s Bridge of Don area, SureVoIP is an internet telephony service provider (ITSP) which specialises in using the internet to deliver telecoms, more commonly known as VoIP or Voice-over Internet Protocol.

The winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony held at the London Hilton, Park Lane on Thursday, October 13. Other finalists on the night include BT Wholesale, Daisy Wholesale, Ericsson-LG, Gamma and TalkTalk Business.

Gavin Henry, managing director at SureVoIP, said: “It’s an honour to have been shortlisted in two separate categories as part of this leading awards event, something which clearly demonstrates the high regard the company is held in by our peers across the UK telecoms industry.

“We’re excited to carry the torch for Scotland and are hopeful of doing well on the night. Even to have reached this stage is terrific recognition of our team’s passion and ability to deliver innovative communications solutions for our clients, particularly when you consider the level of competition we’re up against.”

The Comms National Awards is one of the most respected awards programmes for the ICT channel and recognises excellence and innovation in the field of communications. The full list of finalists can be viewed at:

Established in 2011, SureVoIP services the VoIP telephony requirements of around 850 companies of varying size, from multinational oil majors to national charities. The company is a carrier-grade VoIP provider and delivers its service over the firm’s own wholly owned and managed systems – providing clients with the reassurance of a UK-based technical support team available via phone, email or webchat.

In June, SureVoIP won the Internet Telephony Service Provider Association’s (ITSPA) UK-wide award for Best Business ITSP (Medium Enterprise). The company was also a finalist in the Best Business ITSP (Corporate) and Best VoIP Infrastructure categories.

Earlier this year the business received further recognition from the ITSPA when it was awarded the organisation’s coveted Quality Mark in recognition of the company’s innovative approach to business communications.
