Global entrepreneurship organisation, WeAreTheFuture (WATF) will again be taking a group of the UK’s most exciting technology entrepreneurs to Silicon Valley to meet some of the world’s tech giants.

Previous winners of the ‘Silicon Valley Accelerate Programme’ have joined meetings with Apple, eBay, Google, AirBnB, Y Combinator and DFJ Ventures.

WATF is encouraging the most ambitious UK tech startups to apply for the competition which closes on Friday 30th September at midnight.

The tech hopefuls must be a founder or CEO, based in the UK and have already raised funding, including angel, VC, grant or competition funds.

Of the entries received, three finalists will be selected and invited to pitch live at the Startup Summit in Edinburgh on 14th November in front of over 1,000 entrepreneurs and an expert judging panel which includes Deborah Magid – Head of IBM Ventures, Kerry Sharp – CEO, Scottish Investment Bank, Duncan Logan – Founder, Rocketspace and Scott Abrahams, Head of A&E Payments, Mastercard.

WeAreTheFuture Founder, Bruce Walker, said “I’m really excited to welcome another batch of entrepreneurs to apply for Accelerate, a programme that offers unrivalled access to Silicon Valley leaders and connections that can become game-changers for the startups who make it onto the trip.”

Heidi Rozien, Partner at DFJ Ventures (investors in Skype, Twitter & Tesla) said “The program allows for leading entrepreneurs to have direct contact with potential business development partners, investors, and venture capital firms in silicon valley – access that the individual entrepreneurs would find difficult if not impossible to arrange on their own.”

As well as a week in Silicon Valley in April 2017, the winning entrepreneurs will have access to a range of support and opportunities, including mentors from SendGrid Accelerate programme, IBM Global Entrepreneur Programme and introductions to a KPMG High Growth Tech Advisor.
