Mortgage Advice Bureau in Scotland, investing in Advisers of the Future

Dominic Taddei

Dominic Taddei believes that the key to his success is continually investing in his team, both in terms of recruiting the right employees and delivering an on-going programme of training and development. So when looking to add his first trainee adviser to the team at Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) in Scotland, Dominic turned to the MAB Academy.

David Aitken has been recruited as the first trainee adviser for the team and the first in Scotland to qualify, joining 60 other graduates who have come through the Academy in the UK since it was established in April 2014.

Taddei says: “Many people underestimate the time, skills, knowledge and drive needed to become a successful Mortgage Adviser. But we believe that with the right support and environment we can develop a team of brilliant new advisers, with the aim of taking on more trainees over the next 12-months.

Taddei says “Once qualified, we have developed a robust CPD programme for our advisers, ensuring they have the best skills to deliver the highest level of service. Employing local talent and investing in the local economy has been at the heart of our business, since launching from the Scottish Borders over a decade ago.”

David grew up in a household of financial professionals, studying Business Management at Strathclyde University. David said: “After University I was unsure what I wanted to do next, working in finance seemed the most obvious choice. My sister had completed the academy programme and started her career as a Broker so I knew what a great opportunity it was.”

Joining one month into his training David has not looked back, he continues: “The team have been fantastic, the Academy programme is intense, but the real learning is on the ground. Dominic and the team created a structured mentor development programme which has enabled me to hit the ground running. It is great to be fully qualified and I am excited by the career ahead of me with Mortgage Advice Bureau.”

Taddei concludes: “Since day one David has been part of the team, his commitment, enthusiasm and can do attitude to learning makes him an asset to our growing business.”

Mortgage Advice Bureau is currently looking for its next Trainee Mortgage and Protection Adviser. To find out more about this fantastic opportunity contact the team at Scotland@mab.org.uk or call 0131 603 4440.
