New partner joins Gillespie Macandrew

Scottish Law firm Gillespie Macandrew has appointed Murray Soutar as a partner to its Land and Rural Business team.

With offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth this latest appointment takes the number of partners to twenty-one.

A native of rural Angus and a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Murray has extensive experience with leading legal firms both in Scotland and New Zealand.

He has acted for a large number of individuals and rural businesses, with particular expertise in a wide range of rural property matters, agricultural tenancies, commercial development and renewable energy.

He is also highly experienced in purchase, sale and leasing of farms, estates and forestry and is a recognised expert on the sale and management of salmon fishing rights.
