A Leith-based tech startup has been named regional winner for Scotland & Northern Ireland in the startup category of Barclays annual Entrepreneurs Awards.
The awards are a celebration of Barclays most innovative entrepreneurs and businesses as voted for by Barclays colleagues and a panel of regional and national judges from the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Amiqus’ nomination will now be reviewed by a panel of national judges selecting the overall national winner in the startup category, to be announced at a ceremony in London on 11th October 2017.
2017 has been a significant year of growth for Amiqus who took home Pitch of the Day and Audience’s Choice at EIE17 in May.
In the last six months, they’ve attracted 20 early adopting clients to their first anti-money laundering product Amiqus ID; secured a sales partnership with First Scottish, who handle 60% of legal property searches in Scotland and integrated with Clio, the world’s largest case management provider.
Graham Cambridge, Business Manager for High Growth & Entrepreneurs said, “Barclays are proud to support entrepreneurs like Callum Murray and we are pleased to announce that he has been selected by our judging panel as the Startup Entrepreneur for Scotland & Northern Ireland. Callum has proven himself to be a true entrepreneur, learning quickly and adapting to his environment across a number of industries. The Amiqus team are going from strength to strength, scaling rapidly with some exciting opportunities ahead. Barclays is passionate about helping businesses like Amiqus. We launched a High Growth relationship team to specifically address the gap in Scotland’s scale-ups, supporting entrepreneurs across their journey, from startup to IPO.”
