Engineering specialists Hoare Lea has been confirmed as the latest tenant at 58 Waterloo Street in Glasgow.

Hoare Lea has taken a total of 2,033 sq ft across the 4th floor on a five year deal at a rental of £20 per sq ft.  Previously based in premises on Buchanan Street, the company required larger premises to continue the growth of its expert services.

The relocation follows the extensive multi-million pound refurbishment of 58 Waterloo Street in early 2017 which created 31,068 sq ft of Grade A office space over eight levels. Hoare Lea will take occupation later this month following completion of fit-out works.

Paul Winning, project director at Hoare Lea, commented: “Relocating to 58 Waterloo Street is an exciting move for Hoare Lea. The building offers high quality space which we required to reflect our company’s standards and to accommodate business growth.

“The unique features such as GPS golf simulator on the basement level will provide excellent client entertainment on site; it really has all of our needs under one roof.”

Hoare Lea is the fifth tenant to sign up to 58 Waterloo Street since completion of the refurbishment project, joining existing occupiers Cornerstone Asset Management, Swan Group, MS Amlin and Leonard Curtis.

Rachael Pittaway from landlord Castleforge Partners, said: “We are pleased to confirm we have secured our fifth occupier at 58 Waterloo Street since launching the property to the market in March last year. The high quality finish of the building has attracted a number of successful organisations which was our vision when undertaking the refurbishment.

“58 Waterloo Street enjoyed a successful year in 2017 with the completion of the refurbishment project and a strong series of lettings, so it’s great to start this year by announcing yet another new occupier.  I am confident that this will continue throughout 2018 as we continue to offer attractive packages to tenants with a friendly and flexible approach.”

Scott McNicol from McNicol Property Consultants, who advised Hoare Lea, added: “Hoare Lea viewed several buildings in Glasgow over a long period of time but was impressed with the quality space on offer at 58 Waterloo Street. The Central Business District location, suitable suite size and high quality specification on offer made the 4th floor at 58 Waterloo Street the perfect fit for the growing company.”

Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank acted jointly on behalf of Castleforge Partners whilst McNicol Property Consultants acted for Hoare Lea in this transaction.
