20 new jobs from £1 Million Trojan Crates Investment

Trojan Crates, a specialist in crating and packing solutions for the oil and gas industry has invested £1 million in new premises close to Aberdeen Airport and in additional state of the art manufacturing equipment.

The firm, which has its headquarters at Aberdeen Harbour has added the 10,000sq ft premises in Howe Moss Terrace, Dyce to increase its manufacturing capabilities in the north east of Scotland. Up to 20 new jobs will be created as a result of the expansion.

Trojan Crates sales director, Craig Sim says of the expansion, “At Trojan Crates we have always been committed to servicing our clients’ needs with rapid turn-around times. Purchasing our new building in Dyce means we can increase our manufacturing giving clients in the oil and gas, subsea and freight forwarding industries an even more demand-driven response.”

In addition to the new Dyce premises, Trojan Crates has also invested in four new CNC machines, making it the only firm in Aberdeen to have these state of the art routing tables that are capable of the precise cutting of CAD 2D and 3D designed foam inserts for protective cases. These foam inserts protect everything from sensitive electronics to deep water housings, machinery, tools and parts.

Trojan Crates chairman Alistair Paterson adds, “Our new capacity at Dyce and our investment in further new technology is part of our strategic growth plan for Trojan Crates. We aim to increase our turnover to £7million by 2017. The expansion means we will be increasing our workforce from our current team of over 50 to over 70 over the next two years with newly created posts in manufacturing, sales and administration. ”
