June 21, 2021 - 12:00 am

Speaker – Nick Summers Gill

According to HSE statistics, 40% of all days lost due to work related ill-health in 2014/15 were attributed to Work Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WRMSDs), most commonly back and neck pain. That’s an estimated 9.5 million working days lost due to WRMSDs, with an average of 17 days absence for each case.

This session will demonstrate how preventative strategies for the management of lower back and neck pain are essential for dealing with this common problem and for helping to significantly reduce costly sickness absence. It will include some helpful takeaway techniques for attendees and also provide employers with some guidance on  the prevention of lower back and neck pain in the workplace and an introduction to workplace assessment and functional capacity evaluation (FCE) for creating tailor made rehabilitation solutions.
