Abergower targets further growth with high-profile deals

Paisley-based document processing start-up, Abergower, is looking to grow in 2015 after securing a number of high-profile deals.

The firm was set up less than a year ago, and provides document processing and information management solutions by using market-leading technology. It has already won contracts to digitise important historical documents from the Advocates Library in Edinburgh and a number of publishing and marketing businesses in London.

Founder Robin Prior has over 20 years of experience in the document processing marketplace across the UK and Europe and has received help in starting Abergower from Business Gateway and funding from Renfrewshire Council’s Invest in Renfrewshire programme.

Robin said: “Our industry has gone through many technological changes over the last five years and Abergower has taken these on board and diversified into providing new and exciting services which revolve around information capture and document processing.

“I had successfully run my own company before and I wanted to do so again, so last year I set up Abergower with the aim that we would start where traditional scanning and data capture companies stop.

“The feedback so far has been very positive and we have been involved in some exciting projects for prestigious clients, who have all been delighted by our use of new technology and processes.

“We would like to capitalise on our knowledge in converting very precious historical material to digital content and work even closer with customers to bring new products and technology to demanding projects so they can be delivered in the most productive way.”

Colin Ferguson, Business Adviser at Business Gateway, added: “Robin is a very experienced and successful businessman yet he understood the importance of gaining outside advice and support.

“Abergower is a perfect example of a business that is using innovative and modern techniques to satisfy customers’ needs and it is this proactive method that has resulted in Abergower securing important contracts. We have supported Robin and his team through various aspects of the business process and we will continue to advise as Abergower continues to grow.”
