Start-up aims to revolutionise Scotland’s data analytics market

With more than 20 years’ experience between them, two Scottish IT experts have formed a new start-up company aiming to revolutionise the country’s data analytics market.

Marc Christensen and Philip Coupar launched Glasgow-based Blacksnow Analytics last month, offering a range of services to help businesses gain better insight when making critical decisions.

The pair set up the company to deal with the growing challenges companies are facing with data analytics. Over the past few years, Philip has worked with a number of organisations to help them gain better insight using their core data.

This experience led the two to discuss what they could do together to help businesses, offering a cost-effective service that delivers results including cost savings.

Philip Coupar, director, said: “I am a data scientist at heart and love working on complex data projects. Teaming up with Marc has given me the opportunity to share this knowledge to a larger audience.”

Marc Christensen, director, added that the business offers a non-chargeable, non-obligatory health check. He said: “The free health check is designed to give businesses peace of mind when it comes to understanding the value they get from data. Our philosophy is to show business leaders where and how value will be gained, we want to revolutionise the way companies gain insight with Big Data. It’s our experience that allows us to do this but it’s our attitude that makes us different.”
