A north-east football team has kicked-off the new season in style after netting a sponsorship deal with AISUS Offshore.

The Aberdeen based company, which provides an enhanced range of visual and ultrasonic inspection services to the oil and gas industry, has donated tracksuits to help the Cove Youth 2000 team go the extra distance as it embarks on the 2016 season.

Founded in 1985, Cove Youth Football Club now boasts over 250 players and is dedicated to the development of youth football for boys and girls, providing youngsters between the ages of six and 19 with the opportunity to compete in local football tournaments.

The team was recently promoted to ‘A League’ status in the Aberdeen and Juvenile Football Association’s Under 16’s category after an impressive winning season.

Angela Milne, company director of AISUS Offshore commented: “The team has worked extremely hard to gain promotion and we are pleased to reward them for their efforts with new match day tracksuits.

“We’re extremely proud to be supporting Cove Youth 2000 and we hope this donation will go some way in helping the team reach further success.

“At AISUS Offshore, we regularly support community initiatives, especially when it promotes an active lifestyle. We know how difficult it is keep local clubs like this alive and they often have to rely on their own fund-raising efforts and sponsorship to ensure that the team can achieve their goals.”

Scott Gray, head coach for Cove Youth Football Club, says he hopes that the sponsorship deal will be a catalyst for the football club.

He commented: “Every juvenile team relies heavily on sponsors and they are hard to come by at the moment with a lot of companies tightening their belts, so we are extremely grateful to Angela and the team at AISUS for this fantastic gesture.

“It's really great to see the boys all turn up on match days looking smart and proudly wearing the Cove Youth Football Club badge."

Earlier this year, Cove Youth FC was awarded the Club of the Year accolade at the Sport Aberdeen Annual Awards in recognition of their achievement in becoming the first city club to achieve SFA Community Club status. Club stalwart, Donald Smith was also honoured for his outstanding commitment to football.
