Digital marketing agency singled out by Google for elite business growth programme

Tim Barlow, Managing Director of Attacat

Edinburgh-based Attacat’s growth potential has been recognised by Google after the search giant chose the internet marketing agency to join its new flagship business coaching program for agencies.

The agency is the only Scottish company on the list of 20 high growth potential businesses hand-picked by Google from its 30,000 UK based Google partners.

Tim Barlow, Managing Director of Attacat, one of Scotland’s longest established internet marketing agencies, will participate in the five month business growth program led by seasoned business consultant Robert Craven of the Directors’ Centre and author of ‘Grow Your Digital Agency.’ The program is taking place at Google’s £1bn UK headquarters in London.

The Google Partners Coaching Program is a global initiative designed to fast track business growth for Google’s most trusted partners. The program will take the invited digital media agencies through the fundamentals of expanding a successful, fast-growing agency, based on research and case studies of some of the best agencies in the industry.  Other major UK agencies selected for the program included Branded3, Conversion Works, Ocere and Ascendancy.

To be identified as a fast growth business by Google reflects Attacat’s considerable success over the last 18 months. The ambitious agency has taken on new members of staff, built their client portfolio and achieved impressive year-on-year financial growth, including 100% increase in profit last year alone. From beginnings in search engine optimisation and paid search, the company now delivers a more all-encompassing offering designed to help businesses adapt their marketing to an online world.

Clients include Scottish success stories such as Wilderness Scotland, rugbystore.co.uk, Highland Titles, ScotlandShop.com and Lingo24.  Whilst the company focuses on established businesses in the £1 million to £10 million turnover range, the company also assists start-ups and some of the UK’s biggest brands.

Tim Barlow, co-founder and Managing Director of Attacat comments:

"It isn't everyday someone offers to send you to business school, especially one that is focused on your particular type of business.  So of course I was delighted to accept the invitation!  Having our potential recognised by Google is real credit to the work the team have put in, especially over the last 18 months.”

Robert Craven, business consultant and course leader said:

“The rationale for Google to provide this program is simple.  If Attacat grow then Google will see more revenue from Attacat and their clients.  What we've sought to do is identify agencies for the program who, like Attacat, deliver quality digital marketing for their clients but are still hungry to invest in improving the way they manage and grow their own businesses."
