Bank of Scotland appoints new business development specialists

Karl Lejman, Bank of Scotland business development manager for the east of Scotland

Bank of Scotland has strengthened its business development office by making two appointments to support its SME Banking services.

Derek Smith joins as healthcare business consultant for Scotland, while Karl Lejman joins as business development manager for the east of Scotland.

Derek previously worked for Clydesdale Bank and Barclays Commercial Bank and has 26 years of experience in funding SME businesses, with particular expertise in the healthcare sector.

Karl joins from HSBC, with 12 years of experience in commercial banking, including skills in managing and promoting business development, and delivering professional relationship management services.

Donna Kerr-Roscoe, head of SME Business Development for Scotland at Bank of Scotland, said: “The arrival of Derek and Karl bolsters our offering across the Scottish healthcare sector and the east of Scotland as a whole at a time when we’re focused on increasing our lending to businesses across the country.
