New business will help homes achieve their potential

Sarah Clark of Homedresser

A new Aberdeenshire-based business aims to help homeowners in the NE maximise the potential of their properties without breaking the bank.

Homedresser, founded by Sarah Clark, works with clients to pinpoint the changes to their property that will make the most impact for the least cost, while meeting their lifestyle needs and aesthetic tastes.

The service is suitable for those who are selling their properties and wish to achieve the best price, as well as homeowners seeking to improve their existing living space. Homedresser also offers ‘rental refreshes’ for landlords; this fast turnaround treatment revitalises a property for its next tenant when it falls vacant.

“Many people dismiss interior design support as something that is outwith their financial means,” says Sarah Clark, owner, Homedresser. “This need not be the case, however. Homedresser has a strong emphasis on helping clients to retain and upcycle items they love and will happily work with existing furniture pieces and layouts.

“Each project begins with a consultation and report, after which clients are free to decide which recommendations they’d like to implement and how. If required, Homedresser can project manage and source a wide range of services on their behalf, including painting and decorating, decluttering, deep cleaning, furniture rental and off-site storage. Equally, clients can choose to make the improvements themselves.”

With 18 years’ experience in the financial sector, Sarah has a strong background in budgeting and customer service. She is currently studying interiors via the KLC School of Design and believes that the combination of all three disciplines is important for Homedresser’s clients.

“Many of us are familiar with television programmes where the costs of home improvement projects spiral,” she says. “Homedresser aims to turn that perception on its head by proving that great results can be achieved both within budget and on schedule.”
